New tread on a sound casing

A retread replaces the worn tread on a tire whose casing is still in good shape. For fleets and owner-operators, that means more life from every casing, for a fraction of the cost of a new tire.

We’ve been retreading commercial tires in Southern California since 1962.

How retreading works

Retreading a commercial tire involves these stages. We use both pre-cure and mold-cure retreading.

  1. InspectionThe casing is inspected to make sure it’s sound enough to retread.
  2. BuffingThe worn tread is buffed away to prepare the casing for new rubber.
  3. RepairRepairable damage in the casing is fixed before new tread goes on.
  4. Tread applicationNew tread goes on in our own proprietary rubber: a pre-cured tread, or uncured rubber that’s molded in place.
  5. CuringThe tire is cured so the new tread bonds to the casing.
  6. Final inspectionThe finished retread is checked before it goes back to you.

Pre-cure

The tread is molded and cured first, with its pattern already formed. It’s then bonded to the prepared casing and cured again in a curing chamber.

Mold-cure

Uncured rubber goes onto the prepared casing, and the tread pattern is formed in a mold as the tire cures.

From 1 day to 2 weeks, depending on volume, tire type, and casing condition. Call for an estimate on your order.

Which tires do you retread?

Commercial tires in all positions: steer, drive, trailer, OTR, and more. If you’re not sure about a size, give us a call.

Can you retread my own casings?

Yes. Bring them to our Azusa plant or schedule a pickup. We inspect every casing before retreading it.

Do you use pre-cure or mold-cure retreading?

Both. We retread with pre-cure and mold-cure methods at our Azusa plant. Ask us which fits your tires when you request a quote.

Is there a warranty?

Our retread rubber carries a 30-day warranty covering manufacturing defects only.

How much does a retread cost?

A retread costs a fraction of the price of a new tire. Your price depends on the tire size, position, quantity, and casing condition, so request a quote and we’ll get back to you within one business day.

Do you pick up and deliver?

Yes, anywhere in Southern California.

Do you offer roadside or mobile tire service?

No. We’re a retread plant, so all work is done at our Azusa facility. We don’t offer mobile, roadside, or 24/7 emergency service. For planned work, we pick up and deliver.
